Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) measures how fast electrical signals move through a nerve. EMG (Electromyography) testing, which involves inserting small needles into the muscle (a mild tingling sensation, similar to acupuncture, may be experienced), is often performed simultaneously with NCV.
